TS Plzen hydraulic presses for hammer forging are designed for performing all operations of hammer forging of steel and non-ferrous metals, such as upsetting of ingots, piercing, hammer forging of various semi-products of circular and edged sections as well as forging of rings and hollow rolls on a mandrel.

Every motion of the press is monitored by incremental or absolute sensors and the data are then transferred to a control computer. Its software facilitates the control of the whole forging process in automatic mode without any intervention of the press operator. This solution is also optimizing forging process by minimizing the number of required heating cycles in furnaces and eliminating manufacture of defective forgings due to not reaching required dimensions.
